Army ROTC - Scholarship Programs

Each year, the Army offers a variety of competitive, merit-based full scholarship programs to qualified young men and women who have demonstrated outstanding academic success and leadership potential. Four-, three-, and two-year scholarships are available, and the Professor of Military Science receives a specific allocation of these awards each year.

Scholarships provide resident and out-of-state students with either full tuition and fees each term (excluding summer) or room and board ($6,000 per term). They also include a $600 allowance per term for books. Additionally, all contracted cadets — both scholarship and non-scholarship — receive a $420-a-month tax-free stipend. Upon graduation, scholarship students serve either on active duty, in the Army Reserve, or in the Army National Guard.

Options

Students who wish to obtain a commission as an officer but do not want to serve on active duty may request a Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty (GRFD) scholarship. These Reserve Forces Duty scholarships are limited in number, and affiliation with an Army Reserve or Army National Guard unit is required to participate. Through this program, students receive a written guarantee that they will not be placed on active duty and can fulfill their entire commitment in the Reserve or National Guard.
