Minor in Collaborative Social Innovation

The purpose of the proposed minor in Collaborative Social Innovation is to provide students with the skills and experiences to help improve the human condition expressed in practical, impactful challenge-focused activities through the cross-disciplinary approaches of:

  1. Collaboration – Effective leadership and teamwork focused on enduring and learning from failure, managing risk, handling conflict, project management, and effective communication.
  2. Social impact – Understanding of complex, transdisciplinary problems associated with a clear focus on improving the human condition and evaluating the effectiveness of such efforts
  3. Innovation and design thinking – Designing and constructing novel, feasible solutions to address complex problems and ensuring that such solutions are sustainable
